A sonnet of Haikus

Askance glance,
blushing eyes meet,
love.

A silent smile,
tells endless stories,
love.

A permanent sickness,
sweaty hands, dizzy feet,
love.

So many words,
lost in a stammer,
love.

All smiles,
first meeting,
love.

Bubbles burst,
filled with happiness,
love.

Sleepless dreams,
lost in sweet thoughts,
love.

Snickers,
pitying friends,
love

Sweet ache,
hot jealousy,
love

Bickerings,
fight and make up,
love

Endless calls,
long phone bills,
love

Promises,
of life and death,
love

Small gifts,
Smiles of delight,
love

First kiss,
rauceous bliss,
love

A Bedtime Prayer

I have a friend who is unwell,
Suffering so much that its hard to tell!
He has to lie in bed all day,
As he has to rest, the doctors say!
He cannot get up and go anywhere
Only out of a window he can stare!
He can meet me only for an hour or two,
And even then, homework is all we get to do!
He gets sad when I tell him I fell,
But sad for whom, I cannot tell!
When I tell him of all I did that day,
His eyes glaze and look so far away.
I think he imagines him in my place,
In every game, dive, jump and race!
And I get sadder and sadder every day,
That he has to live life this way!
I want him to come with me and play,
So at bedtime I kneel and pray.

I pray that make him well again,
And take away his every pain.
So that he can jump and run,
And have all possible sorts of fun!
Let him swim and race and dive and fight,
And hit the ball with all his might!
I pray that he shall not suffer so,
I pray that his pain should go,
I pray that he should live as such,
That even he says he's lived too much!

Confused Sally!

A confused girl with curly hair,
Almost sure, but never quite there.

Somewhat certain, but mostly uncertain;
She took six hours to buy a curtain!
One day I know she went to get some tea;
Then debated for hours and ordered coffee!

She then decided to go to college,
And gain some additional extra knowledge.
She thought it would help her decide,
And generally get all her loose ends tied!
She had it almost all thought out,
Only the course was in a bit of a doubt,
She couldn't decide whether take this subject or that,
Physics or chemistry, humanities or math!
So you see, she is still quite the same,
The only thing she is sure of, is her name!

The little girl with the pain in the back

There was a little girl called Jane,
Who was troubled with a big back pain,
When asked, she said "Its not that bad!"
When asked, she tried not to look very sad!
But the pain showed through in her eyes,
And sneaked out in front of all her lies!

One day she could bear it no more,
So she went past the hospital door,
The doctor there saw her and said,
"Your back is really swollen and red,
Change your diet to water and bread,
So that you will lose some weight,
Then maybe your pain wont be so great!"

Jane looked the doctor up and down,
And turned her smile into a frown,
And then told the doctor to stuff his head,
With the same old moldy water and bread,
She rather liked her back pain,
By losing it, there was no gain,
And if she had to live on water and bread,
She would rather be better off dead!

The sun and me

It would be such lovely fun,
If I could capture the sun!

I could keep it in my pocket,
Or wear it like a shiny locket!

And take it to my friends homes,
And burn holes in their garden gnomes!

As of little kids who burn little ants,
I would take care to sizzle their pants!

At night I would hide it in the pool
Then, I will never have to go to school!

Of course, I wont hog it all,
It can shine a little around night fall!

And when the king wants it for crops,
I would lend it out for a few acid drops!
